Ramone’s Ice Cream Parlor – Small Business Spotlight I American Family Insurance

Blayne and Kayla Midthun, owners of Ramone’s Ice Cream Parlor in Eau Claire, Wisconsin, provided their award-winning ice cream to first responders last spring as a token of appreciation for their bravery and sacrifices made during the COVID-19 pandemic. Additionally, through Ramone’s ongoing “Cash for a Cause” initiative, over $25,000 was donated to local charities in 2020 and over $80,000 to date.


Miss Molly’s Café – Small Business Spotlight I American Family Insurance

Fueled by American Family’s commitment to dreamers, the Small Business Spotlight series is highlighting business owners across Wisconsin — honoring the dreamers who went above and beyond for their community last year. Molly Sullivan, owner of Milwaukee’s neighborhood favorite Miss Molly’s Café, organized online donations to provide thousands of boxed lunches to healthcare workers and first responders during some of the pandemic’s hardest months.


Amilinda – Small Business Spotlight I American Family Insurance

Last spring, Greg León, the owner and chef of Amilinda in Milwaukee, and his good friend Reverend Karen Hagen, teamed up to launch “Hungry Hearts,” a community-based initiative to provide nutritious meals to those in need while supporting small businesses. Every Saturday, different local restaurants provide 100 complimentary meals to the community and are granted $1,000 for their contribution. To date, this program has donated over 16,000 meals and raised over $192,000.

Sally’s Sweet Shoppe – Small Business Spotlight I American Family Insurance

With two locations across Waukesha Country, Tracey “Sally” Catarozoli continues to use her bakery as a platform to touch, move and inspire people with her work. Last year, Sally’s Sweet Shoppe created a neighborhood pantry. Located in a community that is in need of support, the “Free Little Food Pantry” provides food, healthcare items and other necessitates to those in need. It continues to be restocked on a regular basis by the funds raised through Sally’s “Keep the Change” jar, an ongoing initiative that donates money to local nonprofit organizations and other community-focused purposes.


Clasen’s European Bakery — Small Business Spotlight I American Family Insurance

Fueled by American Family’s commitment to dreamers, the Small Business Spotlight series is highlighting business owners across Wisconsin — honoring the dreamers who went above and beyond for their community last year. In June of 2020, Middleton’s local family bakery, Clasen’s European Bakery, provided more than 10,000 of their signature morning buns to healthcare workers and first responders.


Sassy Cow Creamery – Small Business Spotlight I American Family Insurance

James Baerwolf, owner of Columbus’ Sassy Cow Creamery, created the “Kindness Cooler,” an accessible fridge on the 1,700 acre-farm that was consistently stocked with free milk and other dairy products for people in need during the pandemic.
